First-time finalist in IPL 2020

Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi Capitals reached the IPL final for the first time in the 2020 edition. It took 13 years for Delhi to reach the final, which was the longest wait by any side to reach the decider.

13 captains in 15 editions

As many as 13 players have captained DC in the IPL to date. Virender Sehwag was the first DC captain, and he was followed by Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, James Hopes, Mahela Jayawardene, Ross Taylor, David Warner, Kevin Pietersen, JP Duminy, Zaheer Khan, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant leading run getter

Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who led the side in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the IPL, is the highest run scorer for DC. In 98 matches, he has scored 2838 runs.

30 wickets for Rabada

During the 2020 edition of the IPL, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada picked up a total of 30 wickets in 17 matches, which was the most by any DC bowler in one season.

Homecoming for Gambhir

During IPL 2017, Gambhir, who was playing for KKR in the league, expressed his desire to play for the Delhi Capitals again and thus was not retained by the franchise. During the 2018 mega auction, DC signed him for Rs 2.80 crore and made him the captain.

Pant’s unbeaten 128 against SRH

During Match No. 42 of the 2018 IPL, Rishabh Pant played a memorable knock of 128 not out from 63 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. It is still the highest individual score by a DC batter and the second-highest by an Indian player in IPL history.

Shaw creates history

During Match 25 of the IPL 2021, Prithvi Shaw created history by smashing six back-to-back boundaries in the first over of the innings. He scored six fours against KKR pacer Shivam Mavi.

Pant’s record of 37 sixes in 2018

Rishabh Pant hammered the highest number of sixes by any player during the 2018 edition of the IPL. In that season, he hit 37 maximums in 14 games.

Only team to top league thrice, but no title

In the 2009, 2012, and 2021 editions of the IPL, the Delhi Capitals finished at the top of the points table but failed to bag the title. They didn’t even manage to reach the final on these three occasions.
